We have examined the impact of stratospheric model configuration on planetary wave structure, vertical propagation, and the resulting impact on stratospheretroposphere coupling in Northern Hemisphere winter using the CMAM. The CMAM configurations included a high-lid (0.001 hPa) and a low-lid (10 hPa) configuration that were each run with and tiffany necklaces conservation of parameterized gravity wave momentum flux.
